Supplementary Lesson 5 A la s da yv di
Monologue
Here is a monologue for teachers to use to present new foods. Some new foods are given here. You may want to add even more.

Ni. Si kwa ha wi ya no le wa ka ha wi ya. Hi a tsa ta ga no le gv na. Hi a u ga na s da ga du. Do i yu s di tsa du li?
ACTIVITIES:
1. Add the new foods that are talked about in this presentation to the illustrated chart that you began for homework last lesson. Remember to use Google images or illustrate the chart yourself with your drawings if you prefer. Label the illustrations in Tsalagi ONLY so that you begin to associate the food name in Tsalagi with what it is visually rather than with its English name. Your teacher may want to add additional foods for you to complete your chart. Follow your teacher’s lead.
2. In small groups, create a menu for a restaurant in Tsalagi with your teacher’s help if you need it. Each person in the group should create a copy of the menu, using Tsalagi words and images. Add prices, and write the numbers, along with adela and ni se na si in Tsalagi. Role play having a waiter or waitress come and ask each person in your group in Tsalagi what she or she wants. Respond in Tsalagi telling what you want. If you have play food that you can use, all the better.
3. Use the names of the foods you have learned to create a chart with three balanced meals – one for breakfast, one for lunch, and another for the evening meal. Make certain the foods you combine are nutritionally balanced. Ask your teacher if you need help with this. Write the food names in Tsalagi, and illustrate your chart. Do not use English.
